The tail end of August, 29th, to Sept. 1st 2008: ASET, the
number one distributor of Anest Iwata products in North America, put on their
Fifth annual Open House/Kustom Paint workshop at their state of the art training
facility in SLC, Utah. Called the "Air Affair", this is not your
average open house, they boasted a Hands-On Kustom Paint Workshop that would
rival any currently in the industry. To start out the event, the artists started
working on their respective display pieces during the workshops. As each instructor
rotated through the roster of workshops, the remaining instructors would help
out as roaming assistants in the workshop area, or working on their display
projects. This year hosted a record number of artist/instructors with the
following in attendance: Steve Vandemon, Steve Driscoll, Deborah Mahann, Bob
Soroka, Dean Loucks, Jason Doll, Fonzy, Paul Quinn, Gerald Mendez, Bonz, Ron
Gibbs, Mike Lavallee, Pamela Shanteau, and your's truly Craig Fraser. The
newest artist to attend, and give demos, was Brian Pappas. This event continues
to attract new talent, and next years list is already filling up. Some of
the manufacturers in attendance that sponsored the event, demonstrated, and
sold new products were: Medea/Iwata, Artool, SW Planet Color, Dupont Hot Hues,
PPG Vibrance, and Anest Iwata. With 15 artist instructing, and over 75 students
in attendance for the three day workshop series, it was a killer event. Last
years car show that Bill Williams, and ASET put on was amazing. While the
outside car show got rained out this year, we still had a killer after party
indoors. Check out the pics below, and make sure to attend next year. As a
matter of fact, you might want to check the events calendar at www.asetusa.com
for the upcoming East Coast, and Southern Air Affairs that are currently being
scheduled! By the way. Sorry if I left a few pics out. Had a memory card go
bad on me. If you are not properly represented in this photolog,....send me
a pic, and I will download the sucker. Enjoy the pics.
